Web Development SEO
SEO considerations when building a website
Updated on
SEO involves decisions made before a page is published. Structure, URLs and content should help visitors find what they came for.
Give each page a clear purpose
Organise services around real differences rather than variations of a keyword. Use descriptive titles and answer the questions people commonly ask before getting in touch.
Make content reachable
Important pages need ordinary internal links. Check that published content is accessible and that development settings are not accidentally preventing indexing.
Keep URLs and translations consistent
Agree on URLs before launch. When an existing address changes, provide the appropriate redirect. Translated pages should link to their actual counterparts.
Follow up after launch
Use Search Console to review search visibility and access problems. Use what you learn to improve the pages and add information your audience is looking for.
Include these checks in the launch plan, especially when moving an existing website.
Build the structure around your services
When we redesigned the Koutsilas MachineWorks website, we organised the content around its machining and mechanical engineering services. Clear organisation gives each page a purpose and helps visitors find the work that interests them.
This connects website development with later SEO and marketing activity. Pages need useful descriptions before you begin attracting visitors to them.
